Minimum Staffing
Minimum Staffing
Not only can you manually enter open shifts or extra duty opportunities, but you can also define minimum requirements for each day so that the system automatically displays openings when you’re short staffed.
From the editor, the link for the open shift (created because of staffing shortages) allows you to easily notify employees that there is an available open shift. Qualified employees can offer to work that shift, and supervisors can approve the request to place them on the schedule.
You can get pretty granular with how your staffing rules are set up. The system allows you to set them based off of Unit and Job Type and in increments as small as 5 minutes. For example, let's say your patrol unit has a shift minimum of 12, but out of those 12, 8 need to be an officer and 4 need to be a supervisor. You can set those amounts separate per Job Type (i.e. 8 officers and 4 supervisors on the patrol unit).
Additionally, when evaluating time off requests, the system warns you if you will fall below minimum staffing levels upon approval.
