Employee Shift Templates

This feature allows you to set up templates for your department's police officers' shifts or rotations. An employee shift template defines the number of weeks a schedule takes to repeat itself, the shift times and units, and the days on which a person would work throughout the rotation. PlanIt can handle any 24/7 police shift rotation.

If your department needs a new regularly occurring shift or rotation, click add new template. You can name it, choose how long the rotation will take to repeat the pattern, and assign employees to follow the new template.

You would then add in your shifts for the complete rotation by selecting the time of the shift and to which unit you want the employee to be assigned. You can copy this shift to different days. All the shift boxes on this screen are drag and drop so you can easily move them around.

You can quickly reassign employees to follow different templates if their rotation assignments end up changing. When a schedule is created, employees are automatically assigned to shifts based off of their template.
