National Police Week is an event held each year to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. In 1962 President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Officers gather in Washington, DC from around the world. This year(2017) it will be May 14th- 20th but some events are planned a few days before as well. About 25,000- 40,000 attendees are expected.
