Freebies

When we talk about freebies, I can't say for sure if it was worth it because I was not collecting any.

The booth beside us, however, had keychain handcuffs that were quite a hit. They must have given out at least 1000 of them.

Other freebies I saw included pens, phone holders, bags, cups, footballs, and candy.

Products & Services

The spread of products and services that were at the Expo was pretty impressive. There were over 750 exhibits on display.

They had gloves, lights, software, helmets, uniforms, radios... you name it, it was there. 

Some attendees had a plan and took advantage of multiple vendors being there. They were able to evaluate a couple different solutions all in one day.

Others were simply shopping around. 

Even though it may get annoying hearing all the companies advertise about how wonderful they are, expos are a great way to discover and evaluate different products/services. Below lists some pros and cons of attending Expos:

Pros

• Talk to sales people, in person, instead of email or over the phone
• Get detailed information about different solutions all in one day/trip to make sure you pick the right one
• Get out of the office for a couple days
• See what is new in the industry

Cons

• Travel expenses
• Companies trying to sell you things you don't need
• Missing day of work- having to take vacation or use overtime

Overall, yes, I think that this years' Police and Security Expo was worth it for the attendees. Do you?
