How Are Holidays Handled In PlanIt?
Funny you ask at this time of year...
PlanIt has a whole separate screen for handling holiday pay and scheduling. You can create as many holidays as you need. It will create a separate bank for them when you export hours for payroll. That way, your payroll provider will know to give them a different rate for those hours.
If you notice in the image above, you can manage any holiday at any time. If you find a mistake was made about the start time, the hour rate, or anything else, you can always go back in and correct it.
The holiday function in the system allows you to streamline payroll to save you time. You can set it all up in advance so that when the crazy holiday season comes, you don't have to worry about it. When you go to export payroll, you can just double check that it was calculated correctly and send the report off to your payroll provider. Quick and easy.
The export will show the extra holiday hours separately. For example, in the case of a time and a half holiday, an employee working 8 hours would show 8 regular hours and 4 holiday hours during export. (8 hrs * 0.5 rate = 4 holiday hrs)
